Tissot Wins at International Timing Competition
Earlier this month, Tissot was awarded a prize at the International Timing Competition, a renowned industry event that celebrates precision perfection and world-best watches.
On 20 October 2011, Tissot won first prize in the ‘Classic – Enterprise’ category. They received the award at the event in Le Locle, which is also home to the Swiss watchmaker’s headquarters.
The competition jury revealed the winner of the Enterprise category after extensive scientific, technical and cultural tests carried out in officially certified laboratories.
The watches in the running were also exposed to magnetic fields and shocks at the Haute Ecole Arc in Le Locle, testing their ability to withstand applied pressure as models of contemporary mechanical timing.
The winning Tissot watch showcases both the innovative and traditional values of a brand that has excelled for over 150 years.
Francois Thiébaud, President of Tissot and pictured accepting first prize from Claude-Henri Chabloz, said upon the brand’s success: “Receiving this award is a great honour for us and we would like to dedicate it to everyone that contributed to our knowledge and expertise, which remains unique to Switzerland.”
