Footballer Michael Owen may be reaching the end of his footballing career but he has unveiled a second glittering sporting career as a racehorse owner.
The 31-year-old Manchester United player and Tissot watches ambassador who signed a one year extension to his contract earlier this month has made a significant investment in a new stabling facility for more than 100 horses near his home in Cheshire.
The investment is already paying dividends for the former England international. The horse Brown Panther, which he bred from a 12-year-old former racehorse turned family pet, recently won the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Brown Panther is now second-favourite for the St Leger, when he will be Owen's first runner in a British classic horse race.
Tissot watches ambassador Owen is due to return to pre-season training with Manchester United on 4th July. He ended last season as an unused substitute at the Champions League Final against FC Barcelona.
