The TAG Heuer Watches wearing England team finished the RBS Six Nations tournament in a creditable second place behind a resurgent Welsh side. The return to form came as new skipper Chris Robshaw stamped his authority on the team.
The result was all the more surprising following the team’s showing in last years’ world cup in New Zealand, when the national side looked to be on the edge of implosion, temporary coach Stuart Lancaster has built a team that looks capable of great things at future tournaments.
Saturday 17th saw the final match of the tournament as England took on Ireland and secured a 30 – 9 win. However, the Welsh victory over France earlier in the day ensured that the TAG Heuer Watches wearing side were only ever looking at a runners up slot. The victory over Ireland was by the second highest margin in this season’s competition, second only to the IRFU’s win 42 – 10 win over Italy earlier in the tournament.
The Six Nations is scheduled to return in early February 2013.
