The Danish based range of Skagen watches has announced that it is joining the portfolio of Fossil watches. The company, founded 22 years ago by Charlotte and Henrik Jorst will continue to base its operation in the Danish town of Brondby just outside Copenhagen. It will operate as an independent company within the Fossil group and focus on producing items that offer affordable luxury and contemporary Scandinavian design.

The move to become part of a larger corporate group will allow the brand to grow its retail network outside in North America and Asia to become a bigger presence in the watches marketplace.

Announcing the change of ownership to customers the Charlotte and Henrik Jorst commented that it was their wish to see the brand expand that has led to the sale of the company. In a note to the company’s followers on the Facebook social networking platform they wrote “we want to give our baby, Skagen Watches, a bigger opportunity”

A full range of Skagen timepieces will continue to be offered at the Watch Hut.
