Casio watches has congratulated its partners at Red Bull Racing on the OBE offered to the World Championship winning team's technical Director.

Adrian Newey of Red Bull Racing was recognised for his long career in motorsports including his work on pioneering designs and his success in the field.

In addition to his work with Red Bull, Newey has won a further six constructors titles during his career for Williams and McLaren between 1992 and 1998. His designs have also won more than 70 individual Grand Prix Races.

He also brought his technical expertise to the world of video games, becoming Chief Technical Officer on the Playstation 3 game 'Gran Turismo 5'.

The team works with its partners including Tokyo-based watchmaker Casio watches to drive the highest levels of performance from their cars, resulting in two back-to-back championship wins for Casio watches fan and driver Sebastian Vettel.

Motorsport remains a major contributor to the British economy, adding at least 1 Billion per year to both the high value design and manufacturing bases.

The new Formula 1 series starts in Australia on 18th March 2012.
