The new additions to the Seiko watches Sportura collection have been creating a buzz on the internet of late. The models, which have just been unveiled by the manufacturer for a release date in September 2011, are sure to be available to customers of The Watch Hut soon.
The new watches take their design cues from Seiko watches' Ananta range and highlight their thin case with chunky lugs. The cases are available in stainless steel or in black coated steel depending on the version chosen.
One of the most popular options is sure to be the Sportura Alarm Chronograph SNAE67 which features a black case and a black leather strap with yellow highlights. The same watch is also available with red highlights on the strap.
Inside, the watch features a 7T62 movement. This particular calibre is a long-standing favourite of Seiko designers and provides reliable chronograph and alarm functions.
A more off-beat range is the adult-sized Hello Kitty models that have just been released on to the Japanese market. Featuring ‘pink gold’ bracelets and a very subtle ‘Hello Kitty’ design, the watches are clearly aimed at an adult market.
Unlike the Seiko watches' Sportura range, marketing and image licensing arrangements make it unlikely that these watches will ever find their way out of the ‘land of the rising sun’, but the watches certainly mark out a very different approach taken by some Seiko models in their home market.
The full range of Seiko watches available can be found on the Watch Hut website.
