Karen Gillan, who is best known for her role as Amy Pond in popular BBC television programme Doctor Who, won the prestigious Best Female Drama Performance award at the National Television Awards 2012 last week, for her role as Doctor Who’s assistant.

The Scottish star beat off competition from worthy competitors including Suranne Jones (Scott & Bailey), Eve Myles (Torchwood) and Jaye Jacobs (Waterloo Road).

Gillan was sporting a retro Casio watch as she accepted her awards- her watch was a Casio Classic Leisure Watch in silver –it added a touch of understated glamour touch to her simple outfit.

Gillan’s Casio also fitted in with her no nonsense Doctor Who alter ego, as Casio is not only a stunning watch, it also packs in plenty of gadgets such as a digital dial and an alarm but to name a few.

This year's 17th NTAs were held at the 02 Arena in London, with over a thousand famous faces from the world of TV in attendance.
