Casio watches wearer Sebastian Vettel continued his amazing F1 season with his first ever win on the Monaco street circuit. The win places the young German out in front of the F1 leader board an astonishing 59 points ahead of Brit Lewis Hamilton.
Vettel benefited from a pause in the race to remove the injured driver Vitaly Petrov from his car. His engineers using the time to replace his tires whilst on the starting grid rather than making a pit stop. His tyres shot, 15 laps left and Alonso and Button on his shoulder Vettel gambled on being able to continue to compete. He completed over 60 laps on tyres designed to last no more than 45.
Hamilton underperformed at Monaco and displayed aggressive overtaking manoeuvres causing crashes for Massa and Maldonado. He was punished by race officials with a 20 second penalty, but this did not affect his finishing position.
F1 racers are well known for their love of watches. Sebastian Vettel wears a Casio watches Edifice EFE-501D which offers five independent motors for amazingly fast function switching, a perpetual and World time functions as well as a chronograph and alarm. Hamilton and his Red Bull team mate Jenson Button are fans of TAG Heuer.
