The players and supporters of FC Barcelona have spent the weekend celebrating their European Champions league win against Manchester United on Saturday. One of the key sponsors celebrating their success has been their official watch supplier, Seiko watches.
Saturdays game at London’s Wembley Stadium ended with a 3-1 score-line in favour of the Catalan giants. Pedro gave Barcelona the lead in the 27th minute but Wayne Rooney lifted the gloom for United with a fine equaliser following a set up from Ryan Giggs.
The second half however, belonged to Barcelona with an excellent goal by Messi in the 54th minute and a final strike by Villa in the 69th completing Barcelona’s haul.
The final stats show the true story of the match. Barcelona had 68% of the possession and 13 on target attempts at goal compared to Manchester United 1 on target attempt which resulted in Rooney’s goal.
Seiko watches continue to be a major sponsor of FC Barcelona but like all sponsors of the club do not receive commercial space on the shirt of the team. The space normally used for commercial sponsorship is currently donated to international charity UNICEF.
