Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions is operated by Watch Shop, a trading division of Aurum Group LTD. In these Terms and Conditions: "We" and "Us" means The Watch Hut.

1. Introduction

1.1   When you make a purchase with us, the following terms and conditions are being agreed to.

1.2   When making a purchase with Watch Hut, it is your own responsibility to make sure you are fully aware of these terms and conditions.

1.3   As these terms and conditions can be changed at any time, they should be re-read every time you make a purchase through our website. The most recent publish date will be shown at the bottom of this page.

2. Payment

2.1   The payment is debited from your account at approximately 2am on the day following the date of despatch, which is when all of our processing is done. Please contact us if you wish to cancel your order after this, and we will refund the amount in full. See our return policy.

2.2   We only take payment when your items are ready to be despatched. However if using Paypal, the payment will be instant and cannot be delayed until the time of despatch. If your order is cancelled before we have despatched it, and it has already been charged, it will be refunded in full.

3. Contract of Sale

3.1   On rare occasions, a product may be mispriced. If you purchase an item that has been mispriced, we reserve the right to cancel the contract of sale and relist the product for the correct price.

3.2   We reserve the right to cancel an order prior to delivery at any time, and for any reason. The contract of sale does not exist until your order has been verified by our automated algorithms, or by a member of staff. Once it has been verified the order status will be changed to "pick in progress". If the order status is "processed", this is the initial status and does not mean a contract of sale is in place. Only once validity and verification has taken place does the contract of sale exist. We also reserve the right to downgrade the order status from "pick in progress" to "declined" if the order becomes unacceptable for any reason.

3.3   A contract made between us through any transaction is governed by the laws of England, using only the English language.


4. Privacy

4.1   Here at Watch Hut and Watch Shop Logistics Ltd, only the necessary information needed to make a purchase is stored. We do NOT store any credit/debit card information, and this is processed across a secure server, using Secure Trading.

4.2   All information left with Watch Hut and Watch Shop Logistics Ltd is strictly confidential, we do not lease or sell any of your personal information.

4.3   You have the choice to subscribe to our newsletter during the checkout, this information is not used for any purpose.

5. Security

When you place an order, your IP address is logged. This is done for fraud protection. Any orders placed are strictly scanned for fraud by our fraud department before shipping. If you choose an alternative shipping address to your billing address, your order may take longer to process as we have to perform necessary security checks. Any suspicious or fraudulent orders may be disclosed to the relevant authorities on their legal request.

6. Delivery

6.1   A delivery estimate is given on the product information screen for each item. Our rate for next day delivery is nearly always over 99.5%. We endeavour to always stick to this delivery estimate; however it may not be possible to meet these deadlines during extremely busy periods. You will be notified by email if this is the case, and you have the right to either continue with the order or cancel it.

6.2   If there are any issues with the delivery timescale or the delivery itself, we may offer you some form of compensation for the delay. This is usually in the form of a refund of postage. If postage was free of charge, we may offer a gift voucher to use against your next purchase. Please note it must be confirmed by the delivery service that a delivery was late before any of the above action can be taken.

6.3   Lost deliveries: Watch Hut and Watch Shop Logistics Ltd use the Royal Mail and DHL for all of our deliveries for reasons of convenience and reliability. Unfortunately, as with all delivery services, there are very rare occasions where parcels are not delivered within the given timescales, or they are completely lost. In these cases, we will endeavour to make sure that your item is delivered to you as soon as possible by getting in touch with the relevant delivery service and attempting to locate your item and have it delivered. If you wish you can directly contact the delivery service yourself with the tracking number we supply in the despatch email. If the item is lost, we cannot send out a replacement or process a refund until the parcel is confirmed lost by the delivery service. The time periods after which an item can be confirmed as lost depends on the service used, and are detailed as follows:

  • Royal Mail Tracked 48 - 10 working days to confirm a lost parcel
  • Royal Mail 9am / Tracked 24 - 10 working days to confirm a lost parcel
  • Royal Mail International Delivery - 21 working days to confirm a lost parcel
  • DHL Express - 10 working days to confirm a lost parcel
  • DHL Global Mail - 21 working days to confirm a lost parcel

Please note that Watch Shop and Watch Shop Logistics Ltd cannot send out a replacement item or process a refund until it has been confirmed that the parcel is actually lost. This is because in the event of a delayed delivery, the item will be delivered within the above timescales in almost every case.

6.4   In the case of a parcel showing as being signed for with a delivery confirmation being available on the delivery services website, if the customer denies receiving this parcel, it is called denial of receipt. In these circumstances, we must contact the delivery service to confirm the delivery details. They will in turn contact the customer with written documentation that needs to be completed to confirm that the parcel was not delivered. These cases are mediated by the delivery service and we cannot take action until they confirm whether the parcel was received or not by the customer.

6.5   Most orders shipped by Watch Hut and Watch Shop Logistics Ltd require a signature upon delivery. Any parcel sent on this basis cannot be delivered without a signature. If you miss the delivery attempt, a card will be left to either arrange redelivery, or arrange collection from your local sorting office/depot.

6.6   Any orders placed through the Amazon Marketplace are not guaranteed for next day delivery. However, it is possible in almost all cases. Next day delivery for parcels through Amazon is subject to our processing system receiving the order from Amazon before our cut off time.

6.7   In a multiple occupation building, please note that anyone in the building is able to sign for a parcel and confirm receipt. Royal Mail and DHL consider an item as delivered once a signature at the designated address is achieved. It is your responsibility to ensure that the recipient is able to receive the parcel at the given delivery address, or to obtain the parcel once delivered from the signatory.

6.8   If an item cannot be received or collected by the recipient and it is returned to us undelivered, we will offer to resend your parcel one time at no extra charge. If again it is returned to us undelivered, we reserve the right to charge for the delivery of subsequent deliveries. If a delivery is failed, it is your responsibility to organise a redelivery or collection.

6.9   When receiving your order, you should check the packaging thoroughly before accepting the parcel to make sure it has not been tampered with in any way. If it appears to have been tampered with, you should refuse delivery. If you accept and sign for the parcel despite this, you will have entered into a contract to accept the parcel in its delivered state and as such, we cannot assume liability for any subsequent issues caused by loss or damage.

6.10 Deliveries to EU Member states outside of the UK: When an order is placed through our website, the goods are supplied to you by Watch Hut. We can also deliver these products to addresses in the UK, Channel Islands or outside the EU. If you would like an order delivered to an address in an EU Member state that is not the UK, the delivery service will be provided by Watch Shop Logistics Ltd. Watch Shop Logistics Ltd use Royal Mail and DHL. Watch Shop Logistics Ltd is a sister company of Watch Hut, and specialises in delivery of goods to locations outside the UK. Watch Shop Logistics Ltd can provide you with delivery of your goods to addresses in EU Member States other than the UK. All that you need to do is select "I agree that the delivery service will be provided to me by Watch Shop Logistics Ltd for a fee payable by me of "5.00 plus any additional amount specified in the delivery section above." at the checkout. Watch Shop Logistics Ltd will charge you for its delivery services. This payment will be collected by Watch Hut and remitted to Watch Shop Logistics on your behalf. In reflection of the fact that Watch Shop Logistics Ltd is making a separate charge to you for the provision of delivery services, Watch Shop will discount the selling price of your purchase by an amount corresponding to the price charged by Watch Shop Logistics Ltd for the free (Royal Mail) delivery service option (currently "5.).

7. Prices

7.1   All prices shown on our site are inclusive of VAT (Value Added Tax). This is charged at the current UK rate based on your delivery address.

7.2   VAT is not payable on goods exported from the EU, but this does not affect the amount payable to Watch Hut for your purchase.

7.3   Our prices change every day. Usually, we release prices on a schedule, and the prices change at midnight only. We will also inform you in advance of this price change on the product page. However, we can also change our prices during working hours.

7.4   Due to inflation and increased manufacturing costs, our manufacturers generally release price increases throughout the years. We try to absorb these costs as much as possible, however sometimes the price increases are unavoidable. We aim to try and always let customers know about price increases through the product pages on our website.

7.5   Unfortunately we have no control over prices listed on external sites, such as Google cached listings, shopping feeds or other sites. We are not obliged to provide our products for prices which are shown on external sites. We have no control over the rate at which search engines crawl our site, therefore the information in search results may not show our up to date prices.

8. Returns and cooling off period

8.1   Please make sure that you have read our refund and return policy and understand it fully. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

8.2   We aim to process refunds as promptly as possible. During seasonal periods returns volumes can be unpredictable " most are processed on the day of receipt, however please allow up to a maximum of 14 days for the refund to be completed.

8.3   Worn items are not eligible under our returns policy. You can try it on, but not wear it to be eligible for a refund.

8.5   You must notify us within 48 hours if a visual defect is found on your item on arrival (i.e. just out of the box).


9. Copyright

9.1   All images and text on this website remain either the copyright of Watch Hut, or copyright of the product manufacturer. Any usage of this material is prohibited, unless authorisation has been given by the copyright holder. Watch Hut has authorisation to use all images that are on this website.

9.2   If there is anything you are unsure of in these terms and conditions, or if you have any questions, you should contact us before making your purchase.

10. Risk and title change

Risk of loss and damage of products is assumed by you from the moment the goods are delivered.

Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK's fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination - harming wildlife and also human health.

We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items.

There are 2 options for you to hand your old item to us for WEEE purposes:

1. Visit any 'Goldsmiths' store nationwide (UK)

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.

What is WEEE?

The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. Those establishing their own take-back scheme must as a minimum offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like-for- like basis.
