Oris Miles watches from the watch hut
When Oris sponsored the 1996 London Jazz Festival, so began a long relationship with some of the most prominent cultural icons of jazz, music and culture in general. A long line of Oris watches has since been dedicated to the greats of jazz, drawing on the unique style and culture of the music and transplanting these into some unique limited watches. British saxophonist Andy Sheppard was the first icon of Oris ‘culture’ watches and a long list follows.
In 2001, Oris celebrated the work and influence of American jazz crooner Miles Davis with a series of watches that featured a blend of modern and classic in respect for this legendary star. The numbers on the dial were chosen to mimic the ‘improvised’ style of jazz music. Following the Miles Davis watch collection, a number of famous legends have been honoured by Oris watches.
