The eponymous German fashion designer behind the Hugo Boss Watches brand started his clothing company in 1924 in Metzingen, a small town to the south of the important industrial centre of Stuttgart. The company is still based there today.
Today, the company are one of the world leaders in the luxury clothing market focusing on high-end fashion for men and women. The group is among the world’s most profitable apparel manufacturers and offers a wide range of clothing and accessories including Hugo Boss Watches. It currently sells its products in more than 120 countries worldwide. The first venture outside of clothing came with the production of a fragrance line in 1984 a development that set the pattern for later years and provided sufficient growth to allow the company to list its shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
