Hip Hop watches

The music that shares the name with Hip Hop watches is a form of musical artistic culture that originated during the 1970s in New York City, specifically the Bronx. It built on the Jamaican musical tradition of toasting—impromptu, boastful poetry and speech over music. It also spawned distinctive and colourful clothing and accessories that became almost as associated with the genre as the music itself.

As the 1980’s rolled on and the scene emerged from the underground companies became interested in replicating the street styles amongst members of the wider society.

Hip Hop watches - A watch with soul

The team behind Hip Hop watches took this style back to their native Italy in 1984 and created the new and exciting range of timepieces. The designers created watches with a unique sense of Hip Hop watches style. Vibrantly coloured rubber straps with rustic fastenings at the ends secure the rubber-cased watches to the arm of the wearer.

One of the key benefits of this style of watch is its utility. It can be worn just about anywhere fashion concerns are paramount. What’s more, it will look just as good on a night out in an exclusive venue as on a shopping trip to the local mall.

You can also change the look of the watch by pushing the watch mechanism out of the watch and placing it inside another case/strap combination. With faces available in both black and white and easy to obtain alternative straps in a rainbow of colours, the range of possibilities is nearly unending. Never again will you have a watch that clashes with your favourite outfit.

The watches feature high-quality Miyota movements.
