Breil watches were originally based on the shores of Lake Maggiore, on the Swiss/Italian border under the watchful eye of Innocente Binda. The founder of Breil watches moved to the fashion capital of Milan in 1930 - bringing them a step nearer to their goal, and in 1937, Breil watches as a brand was launched.

The Breil watches advertising campaign that hit Italy the summer of 1995 was based on the headline: ‘Take Anything But My Breil'. This featured large Breil watches modelled on ‘Super Models' that would normally only be worn by men.
