In 1946, working from premises in St John Street in London's Clerkenwell district, Asher and Rebecca Loftus
established Accurist watches with the intention of creating a brand name of lasting value. Asher Loftus used
to trail the country top to bottom selling his watches, he used to visit my grandmother twice a year with his l
ateset mechanical master pieces. The Accurist name was actually originally thought up by Rebecca Loftus as
a name that would indicate to customers that the time piece on your wrist is accurate, hence Accu(accurate)
Rist(wirst). Like much of the competition at that time, Accurist watches were made entirely from Swiss

Accurist 21 JEWELS became the Company slogan setting a standard in watches that was later to be followed

producing a T.V. Campaign which was aired regularly on "Sunday Night at the London Palladium",
probably the most widely viewed television program of its day.

Breil watches were originally based on the shores of Lake Maggiore, on the
Swiss/Italian border under the watchful eye of Innocente Binda. Breil
watches have been a masterwatchmaker since 1906, with Innocente Binda
aspiring to combine Swiss technical excellence with the still unrivalled
